“In buying books bearing the A.L. Burt Company imprint you are assured of wholesome, entertaining and instructive reading” (from advertisement at the back).
This particular book from A.L. Burt Company, Love’s Lady, appears to be a traditional marriage plot complicated by money, meddling, society, and the expanding degree of independence granted to women in the early 1900s. This edition in conjunction with a concurrent printing by Edward J. Clode appear to be the only printings of this novel. There are only five copies appearing in various libraries according to WorldCat.
