This book was printed for the occasion of the 13th Annual Banquet of the American Booksellers’ Association, held at the Hotel Astoria on May 15, 1913. The book is divided into two segments. The short front section consists of information about the banquet for meeting attendees such as the list of speakers and the menu for the evening.
The second section which takes up the bulk of the book is a printing of Cobb’s Anatomy, a humorous/satirical story with black and white illustrations. Cobb’s Anatomy was authored by Irvin S. Cobb, illustrated by Peter Newell, and published by the George H. Doran Company of New York. The delightful endpaper illustration of a man seated on an extraordinarily long legged horse is taken from Newell’s illustrations.
